St Mary’s Church Hall – on Thornhill Road, NE20 9PZ – has recently been refurbished and has two rooms available for hire. The capacity of the main hall is approximately 150 people seated and around 80 to 100 if your wish to dance. The cost to hire is £18 per hour. We allow 20 minutes setting up and clearing away time at no extra charge. You will have use of the kitchen, and on dry days, the garden. There is a PA system on request. Tables and chairs are also available. There is a piano and a raised area for use as a small stage.
The small committee room, which contains a kitchenette, will hold 20 people when seated. The cost to hire is £8 per hour.
There is ramped access to the Hall from a disabled parking space, and flat access throughout. There are ample toilet and disabled toilet facilities. To book please call Maureen Hodson on 01661 824470 between 9 am and 12 noon any weekday. We ask that all rubbish is taken off the site at the end of the hire period. Please do not use our wheelie bins as they soon become overfilled. All hall hirers must complete a ‘Hall Hire Agreement’. This is now a legal requirement.
The Church Hall is used on a regular basis for many different Church activities. Look at the Activities and Community sections of this website.
It is also used by many different community groups. If you want information about any of these groups, do not hesitate to contact Maureen Hodson in the Church Office who will put you in touch with the right person.
