FRIENDS OF ST. MARY’S

The town of Ponteland is home to the wonderful building of St Mary’s Parish Church.  There has been a church standing on this site since Saxon times and it has been serving the community ever since.

A few years ago, we formed “The Friends of St Marys” group to help conserve, restore, repair, maintain and improve the fabric of the church building and the grounds surrounding the church.

Please help us to preserve this heritage for future generations, – for the community, for visitors and for worshippers.

For a small annual fee, you can become a member of “The Friends”

please contact either

David Comeskey or

David Butler

via the Parish Office either by telephone or email for further details.

We’d love you to help us with these aims, either by contributing financially or helping out with some of the practical tasks that we do.  Already we have installed nest boxes on trees within the churchyard, to assist with the national Eco Church project, re-dressed a few of the notable graves with new decorative gravel and installed wooden benches in the churchyard.

Saturday November 18th 2023 – 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
